Ride it out

Some days you just need to get on your bicycle... and ride it out.

I'm a kinesthetic learner... I didn't realize I was until university when I learned what it actually meant. I figured people who are kinesthetic learners are the sporty types... and I am SO not. Plus, I figured I am a visual leaner. Turns out I am both.

I am a visual learner, who needs to move. Who remembers things well in space and place. Hence... I am awesome to assist in finding keys.

In university I would get on the treadmill and stick my notebooks on the handlebars... and walk while memorizing the kings and queens of England.

As a writer, I write while I walk or cycle... I know... I know... it's not that I ACTUALLY write then, but I draft it out mentally and see what I like, toss out what I don't like. And something about the movement helps me ignore everything else and just create.

But some spring days the daffodils are blooming and you just need to get your rear in gear and ride out whatever is hassling you. Forget the worries,... let go of the stress,... put distance between yourself and the ache in the heart,... and just... peddle.

See where the road takes you.
